Estoril B! Pro Junior promisses interaction

The scores obtained in this championship will reflect on the European Pro Junior tour, in line will be important spots for the Pro Junior final in Australia, on January 2010.

Portuguese 15 year-old Francisco Alves is going to take on this challenge. This junior surfer has been a custom presence in the podium on national events for the last year and is one of the latest Quiksilver acquisitions for the Portuguese team.

Martim Gonçalves, another Quiksilver athlete that is going to be present in the Estoril B! Pro Júnior, prefers Carcavelos' waves to others in Estoril, but assures that this is not a major factor: "Carcavelos has my favourite waves in the Coast of Estoril, it's a perfect beach break, with lots of power and plenty of places to surf great waves, but there are other good waves here. I hope to gain some experience in this event, to see some of the surfers that come from other countries and to prepare for a time when I enter these international events with other objectives in mind." Martim is 15 years old and has taken part in Pro Junior championships before, but never so close to home.

António Pedro, from Alfarroba, the company responsible for organising the event, stresses the fact that "this championship is of the outmost importance for Portuguese young surfers. They will be able to measure their surfing capacities against some of the best surfers in the world, of their own age. On the other hand, our goal is that the public can enjoy some pleasant days at the beach, seeing some good surf and taking part in different initiatives we have put together for them."

Such is the case of "B! Avatar Expression Session", a session organized by the juice brand B!, to make the experience between surfers and audience more interactive. Cameras will be lent to the participants so that they can catch the surfers in funny situations.

"It's an event to run alongside with the Estoril B! Pro Junior, giving the public a chance to reveal their B! Avatar. People can interact with the brands and spend some time enjoying a funny and upbeat experience", explains Ana Rita Martins, who is B! product manager.

All is set so that between April 17 and April 19 we can watch some of the world's best junior performances in Estoril.
