End of King of the Groms Day2

Rounds 2 and 3 of the Quiksilver King of the Groms' International final took place this morning at the Bourdaines beach in Seignosse.

Just as their elders from the World's Tour, the 16 young surfers qualified for the international final, in turn, enjoyed the French beachbreaks.

Moroccan surfer Ramzi Boukhiam successfully passed round 3. Very consistent during his heat, Ramzi demonstrated style and dynamism in his maneuvers. For the next round, he will compete with the Florida's event winner, Evan Geiselman (USA).

On the other hand, it was a bad day for the French, Tom Neuschwanger and for the Reunion-based Hugo Robin who gave in during round 2 and quickly left the competition.

Our congratulations of the day go to Gabriel Medina, a Brazilian surfer who obtained a 19.73 (on a possible maximum of 20 points). Very mature and aerial, his smooth style recalls some Dane Reynolds. During the Quiksilver Pro France, no one among the World Tour's stars had reached this score until today. The French event's highest rate was 18.27 obtained by... Dane Reynolds.

Tomorrow, Wednesday September 29th, the competition will go on from 11am on the Bourdaines beach.

Two expression sessions will punctuate this competition day.
