Yan Daberkow - King of Brazil heading off to France

Yan Daberkow has won the Quiksilver King of the Groms qualifying stage at Arpoador in Rio de Janeiro (Brazil). With small but perfect peeling lefts, Yan Daberkow made it through to the final stage! He will therefore represent Brazil in France for the World Final from October, 4th to 13th.
It is Daberkow's most important victory so far, and he has now made himself a name in the World of surf!
The final of this Quiksilver King of the Groms stage here at Arpoador, opposed Yan Daberkow vs. Deivid Silva. It was a very intense and close heat but Yan took the lead at the very beginning of the heat and never let it go. He ripped the waves by landing a straight aerial and a couple of other rad manoeuvers, and scoring a 6.75pts on his first wave. In spite of a great performance, Deivid didn't manage to find a wave to score the 2.1 points needed.
Yan Daberkow happily stated that this was the biggest title of his career and that he trained hard to get there and the cordial welcome at Arpoador made him at ease. It probably helped him to succeed in winning this contest.
